About our Name

The Lighthouse of Alexandria, also known as the Pharos of Alexandria, was a towering structure built on the island of Pharos in Egypt during the 3rd century BCE. Rising more than 100 meters, it was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and served as a vital navigational aid for ships entering the busy port of Alexandria.

For centuries, the Pharos guided sailors to safety and became a symbol of protection and direction. Its name spread across cultures and languages: in Spanish and Italian, faro means lighthouse; in Portuguese, the word is farol; in French, phare. Each traces back to that same ancient beacon.

The lighthouse has always symbolized clarity, guidance, and protection in uncertain seas. That is what Faro Point provides: a steady light to help leaders navigate storms, avoid unseen dangers, and reach safe harbor with their people and missions intact.
